The Triangle has earned recognition on yet another national list. This time the Raleigh-Cary metro area has earned the No. 7 spot as an “American Dream City” based on a 2013 ranking report created by the Burghard Group’s Strengthening Brand America site.

The distinction means that the Raleigh area’s residents tend to feel that they are successfully achieving the “American dream,” the report says. The Hartford, Conn. area took the top spot on the list of seven cities deemed “American Dream cities.”

The Raleigh area scored high in categories including “home ownership,” “satisfaction with residence” and “trust in people.”

The report is based on survey data collected by Xavier University. Only metro areas with at least 1 million residents were eligible to be selected as Dream cities.
