The attraction of our location is definitely the peace and quiet. We have plenty of privacy and space between the other homes in the neighborhood  while just  a short 20 minute drive to Raleigh. With the back and side yard area our private retreat, we still have access to the neighborhood across the street from the driveway entrance thus allowing the opportunity for childhood playmates and neighborhood friends.

My husband and I custom designed our house plan with our architect and my husband, being a builder, built it himself. This traditional, classic style was the perfect house to raise our 2 daughters – allowing plenty of room for them to entertain friends in their own bonus room or outside in the large yard space without infringing too much on our own space.

We designed our home with an open floor plan that allowed easy flow within the main living rooms, our downstairs master suite, and our home office wing.  We used energy efficient Pella windows (the 2 story living room has floor to ceiling windows that overlook the back yard and fields beyond), true hardwood flooring,  and newly renovated granite counter tops.

The office wing has a separate exterior entrance for clients but it is attached to the rest of the house for our easy access. We also provided a large parking area. The office/multipurpose wing is about 1500 sq ft and has 4 separate rooms with an additional large room with a 12 ft ceiling. This large room offers a window seat and a set of french doors for another exterior entrance into the back yard. So many possibilities!

The second floor of the main house includes two bedrooms with a Jack and Jill bath, an easy access laundry chute, and one bedroom with a private bath.

There is a loft area that offers a quiet escape for reading or exercise, and a bonus room large enough for a pool table and a separate TV viewing area. Under the eaves in the bonus room are very 3 usable and accessible separate storage areas.

A short 12 minute drive will bring you to Knightdale, North Carolina. Here you’ll find several stores and various restaurants. However, if you were looking for the variety of Raleigh amenities such as The Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, Red Hat Amphitheater, or Caroline Hurricanes hockey – it’s only a 15 minute drive to the I540 loop or a 20 minute drive to the I440 Beltline both of which easily connect to any number of Raleigh activities without having to navigate through a multitude of stoplights to get there. There are only 2 stoplights from our home to I540 or I440 – no stop and go traffic!

If you choose to head in an easterly direction, we are 25 minutes on the four-lane Hwy 64 /264E to Rocky Mount or Wilson. Less than 30 minutes to Raleigh, Rocky Mount, or Wilson.
