Gavin Street in Five Points East Neighboorhood – Inside The Beltline

One of my favorite things to do is pick an area in Raleigh and just go walk the streets, check out the local businesses and stores, and just get a general feel for the neighborhood.

This past weekend I decided to take a look around the little neighborhood between Five Points on Glenwood and Snoopy’s on  Wake Forest Road…Whitaker Mill connects the two and there are several interesting stores, eateries, and businesses right there and I couldn’t have had a more glorious day for it; Saturday was beautiful!

Gavin Street has some train tracks that run behind several businesses located there and some buildings that used to house businesses…

Gavin Street is partially paved and partially gravel. Larry’s Bean’s coffee lab is located here and it’s really the most interesting business down here. They have made a little piece of industrial heaven back there. One of the most amazing buildings and areas; check out the updates he’s made to his location here:

Other Businesses on Gavin Street

  1. what a nice little treat. You never know who is roaming about with a video camera. 🙂

You should have seen the gardens in front of our building when we had several 6 foot tall sunflowers and so many tomatoes and Okra that we encouraged all our neighbors to stop by on their evening walks to pick at will.

Thank you for sharing, and your kind words.
